I LOVE me a few mats from any variety mat pack, but especially this one. The soft gorgeous colors of Sugarplum work fabulous for a simple 12″ x 12″ layout, not just the slide-in pages. I used a total of 7 mats on this layout. A few of which I cut off, and can be used on future layouts. Just play around with them to decide which orientation you might want them, and how many photos you might have to add to your layout.
When I am documenting my memories, I love to capture everyday moments. A walk in the woods with my son, having coffee with a friend, having a snowball fight with my husband, or watching my sweet newborn nephew sleep.
Don’t let these moments pass you by. These are the moments that make up our lives. We couldn’t possibly celebrate BIG holiday’s everyday, but we can make the little moments the BIG ones.
The small, adorable size of the 8×8 album is perfect for gift albums, weekender albums and tribute albums. But sometimes adding another project on top of the regular family albums you’re already working on can seem a little daunting. Not anymore! Here’s a quick, easy way to make an 8×8 album using just a few supplies and tools of your choice!
I’ve used the Slice of Summer collection here, but you can use any collection of papers and stickers that suit your project. What will you use for yours?
Do not delay in getting your 8×8 Coversets, as they are only available a few times a year, and RIGHT NOW is one of those windows!
Not to worry though, the page refills are available all of the time. So, this allows you to create the pages whenever you wish!
Have you used vellum on a layout?
I love how it softens the layout, and gives it a frosted look.
I had some older photos that this frosted vellum was the perfect match for.
You can add the vellum as mats or even as a larger piece to soften the whole layout.

Growing up I have to admit Halloween was not my favourite time of year, but after having children that has changed! I love helping them figure out their costumes, carving pumpkins and decorating for Halloween. We usually try to be creative and make our costumes ourselves. Who knew I would actually be sad that I have only one Trick or Treater left in the house now!
The fall is my favourite time of year for photos as I love the oranges, reds and yellows of the season. So creating Halloween pages is fun for me because I have lots of photos to choose from and Toil & Trouble to play design with!
No matter how old I get, Halloween will always be a fun and playful holiday to me. And the new Toil & Trouble collection is so fun and playful and colorful, it just puts me in the mood for tricks and treats! Making these borders was so easy and fun, I may just have to reward myself with a little Halloween candy from my secret stash…shhh!
Woohoo. WASHI TAPE!
It is now part of the Creative Memories line.
Our first offering is part of our Toil & Trouble Collection. Although it might be included in the Halloween line, the designs are in no way themed for the holiday. The colors are bright and can be added to any card flaps to put a finishing touch on your mail.
In fact, add washi tape to ANYTHING for fun! Why not, when you have 26.2 feet on each roll? That means you get over 104 feet between these four rolls.
Most importantly it is photo-safe!
I love family time. It is the best warm and fuzzy feeling there is. I am sure that you have seen these family photos of mine on many projects, but let me share the story.
It was a fall day in 2011. My oldest son was a senior in high school. This mamma bear was on a mission to have fun family photos taken before the birdie left the nest. At this point my boys were so tired of me sticking a camera in their face, so I was feeling “iffy” about how the day might go.
To my surprise, it was the funnest day our family had had in a long time. We smiled, and laughed, and were just plain silly. So, if you have seen some of the silly ones—this is why. We actually got in the car to head home, and they both commented about how much FUN that photo shoot was.
So, find yourself a FUN-loving photographer who will let your family be yourselves—-and capture those memories…..before the nest is empty.
When I first saw this collection you could say I swooned just a tad over it. This color palette is my go-to. It is the colors that I use in decorating my house, and also what I have used predominantly in my scrapbooks over the years. You could say it is my comfort zone. So, most definitely, it was so easy for me to create with. It reminds me of snuggling up on the couch with a warm blanket and a good book. Comfort. It also reminds me of my grandmother and great-grandmother. The doily looking overlay on the paper, the birds, and the vintage clock in the stickers.
Typically the Labor Day weekend here in the states means that summer is coming to an abrupt end. It means floating in the pool one last time, or splashing in the lake. It means soaking up as much sun as you possibly can before the long winter hits.
Make sure that you remember to document all the summer’s memories–before it is gone. Did you take a vacation to the ocean? Or maybe just a weekend away to the cabin? Whatever it was, make sure you have it in your scrapbooks for years to come!
