Five years ago, my Mom gave me a collection of vintage postcards from Bolton Landing, NY, with correspondence from the early 1900s to 1940s. The back of the postcards have small anecdotes written to friends and family. Today, every time that I hear someone talk about their handwriting it’s always with apologies – my handwriting is awful, or, your handwriting is so much better than mine! But, whenever we look back at stories the generations have written before us, we never think… gosh, they have bad handwriting. Rather, we’re fascinated by the note they left us to read and see a small moment in their life.
I was inspired by this new Creative Memories Archiver’s™ page design that Melissa created, so I found my old postcards and decided to write down the story of why my Mom gave them to me.

I love working with old photos, especially when I know the names and even some of the stories that go along with them. I will admit it can be challenging to effectively arrange on a page a group of old delicate black and white photos, in all sizes and conditions.
That’s why I love the new Archiver’s™ collection. The muted colour scheme and delicate laser cut embellishments blend so well with the old photos and eras so they complement, not distract, and help pull together a unified page. These borders serve to recreate the feel of an era gone by, to balance pages full of well-loved photos and the memories they evoke.

Hi everyone! My family and I just celebrated my grandmother’s 80th birthday and since she loves mini albums, I decided to make one for her. The party was somewhat a surprise. We just told her we were going to celebrate her birthday at my sister’s, but she had no idea that there would be family members traveling from New York, Kentucky and Virginia to celebrate her big day! She was truly touched that so many people cared about her. She made us all cry when she walked through the front door and I am sad that I did not get the photo!
The newest Archiver’s collection is perfect for the mini 2×3 Pocket Album! I love the patterns, color palette and laser die cuts in this gorgeous collection. Ah, it’s so pretty! I just love the rose patterned paper!

Good morning everyone! I am here to share a project I created using the beautiful Creative Memories Archiver’s™ collection. I love this heritage scrapbook collection so much that I asked my 80-year-old grandmother to send me some photos to scrapbook using it. It is amazing how much a great photo can do for a layout… and how much vintage-themed scrapbook supplies can do to accent those photos and tell a story! Here, take a look…

Imagine. Love. Dreams. Wish. Family. Moments.
The words in the Imagine Laser Cut Embellishments speak to me. They make me want to gather my family close and reminisce over photos and memories, old and new.
Poring over a bunch of old, seemingly random photos the other day got me thinking about how connected everything in my life really is. The circle of life and all that. How fun would it be to create a little coffee table book, connecting the old with the new, Then and Now? What if I could pull it out when the family is gathered and journal memories in it as the photos are talked about and stories are remembered?

Today is International Women’s Day, so let’s remember and celebrate the women who have been impactful in our lives.
For some, it may have been an inspirational teacher you had growing up, or perhaps a boss or supervisor who went the extra mile to show you success. For me, it was my maternal grandmother, Leona, who we affectionately called “Grandma Onie.” My goal in this life is to be half the woman she was. Let me tell you a little bit about her.

Before the 8×8 Albums go off sale on Tuesday July 5th, you are going to want to scoop up an Ebony 8×8 Album Cover to create a wonderful scrapbook using your heritage photos!
Dig out those black and whites, and re-live the memories of your ancestors!
Old black and white vintage photos pair perfectly with our recent Uncharted Collection!
So, while you are ordering the 8×8 album cover, you will want to add the Uncharted Paper Pack, Uncharted Embellishment Pack, Uncharted Stickers, and Uncharted Slide-Ins to your order. These items, along with your Tape Runner, Foam Squares, and 12-Inch Trimmer will create a COMPLETE album—with pieces to spare!
You are going to start by picking out 8 pieces of paper from the paper pack.
You will cut each piece of paper into four- 4″ x 8″ strips, and will leave you with one small 4″ x 4″ piece. Set those 4″ x 4″ pieces aside to mat your photos on!
NO OTHER cuts will be needed! Saaaaaa-weet!
Once you have your paper strips cut, you can add them to your 8″ x 8″ Scrapbook Pages as shown. One you have adhered all of your 4″ x 8″ strips to the album, go back and add the stickers, embellishments, and slide-ins! I used foam squares behind some of the embellishments and stickers to create dimension on the page.
FINALLY—you can add your photos throughout the book. And, if you know the story, make SURE to journal. You want to be able to pass those memories down for generations to come!
